Ronnie Lee Twist is a seasoned country and rockabilly artist known for his deep-rooted passion for classic American music. With a career spanning decades, Ronnie has shared the stage with legendary acts such as Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Ronnie Milsap, Earl Thomas Conley, and Eddy Raven. Born into a musical family, Ronnie began performing at just nine years old, captivating crowds with his renditions of Johnny Cash’s classics like Folsom Prison Blues and A Boy Named Sue. By 19, he had moved to Nashville, quickly becoming a sought-after studio musician, songwriter, and live performer. His work has earned him 11 Grammy nominations, solidifying his place as one of the most respected voices in the industry.
A proud member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Ronnie Lee Twist is widely recognized for his award-winning tribute show CASH!, where he honors the legacy of Johnny Cash with authenticity and passion. Beyond his tribute performances, he continues to create original music that embodies the spirit of classic country and rock 'n' roll. His song I Lost a Friend Today, written in tribute to Johnny Cash upon his passing, remains one of his most heartfelt and acclaimed works.
Now based in Las Vegas, Ronnie keeps the traditions of country and rockabilly alive through his band The Future Cats, thrilling audiences with high-energy performances that celebrate the golden era of American music. Whether through his original songs, tribute shows, or production work, Ronnie Lee Twist remains dedicated to keeping the music of the past alive for future generations.
During Covid, Ronnie did 3 Facebook streamed “Shows from Home” and also finished and pulished his book, “The Self Help Book for People Who Hate Self Help Books.” Ronnie Has spent most of his time the last 3 years working on several recording projects in his studio (SpeedCat Productions) with concentration on releasing his music of streaming platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, Apple Music, and most all other platforms. A new project is scheduled for this summer, with the title single “That Old Wheel” to be available in April 2025. His album, “Better Than I Deserve” , a collection of original more traditional country has been available on steaming platforms for over a year, and has done well.
He is a member of the Nashville Rockabilly Hall of Fame as well as the Nashville Country Artist Hall of Fame.
Ronnie is also active with his Substack titled, A DIFFERENT TWIST, which follows as a continuation of his book.
He has appeared in Las Vegas many times with his self Written show “KILLER, CASH and KING” which played to sold out rooms at the Suncoast Theater, the Buena Vista Theater and the Starbright Theater.
Ronnie was also part of the Country Superstars cast as Johnny Cash during their run onstage on Fremont Street.
He has also appeared as a special guest artist at The Tap House, Ron Decar's Event Center, The ELVIS Suite at the top of the Westgate Hotel, The Foundation Room as well as several appearences at the Italian American Club In Las Vegas.
Before coming to Las Vegas, Ronnie was an involed writer, producer, and recording artist in Nashville, Tennessee working out of the Burns Station Sound studio, famous for hosting artist like Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Milsap, Johnny Cash, Waylon, Willie and A huge list of #1 selling artists.
He and his “Nashville Future Cats” stayed busy perfoming at venues large and small.
Ronnie describes his band as a Show band vs. a Bar Band. “I live for a big stage and an a fun loving audience.”
